Hello! Thank you for visiting my site. I am located in Chesterton, Indiana, and have been practicing music and audio engineering for over 15 years. I love everything surrounding it. From performing, to recording, to working on instruments themselves, I have turned what began as a passionate hobby into a lifelong affair of professional learning and expression.

Please feel free to read on for a fuller biography as it relates to music. But if you're here for a quick visit, here's what you'll want to know!

- BFA in Recording Arts from Butler University

- Multi-instrumentalist specializing in percussion/drums and guitars

- Engineer on several published records

- Use of Cubase and ProTools for recording and mixing

- Experience in marketing and promotions for music

- Planning and executing nationwide club-level tours

- Able to repair and maintain music equipment

In high school I was an integral part of almost every music ensemble offered, receiving many awards, including the John Phillips Sousa award for superior musicianship, dependability, loyalty, and cooperation, and participating in the all-state band. I also was honored when the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus came to my school for my rock band to record a song and music video.

At college I pursued a degree in Recording Industry Studies from Butler University, which is a conglomerate degree of audio recording, music performance, business, and liberal arts studies. I participated in the percussion ensemble and spent many hours in Butler's state-of-the-art recording facilities. Here, I was able to record many projects, some of which are available on the "Media" page of this site. I graduated with my BFA degree in 2010.

During my time in college I also performed with multiple music groups ranging from indie-rock, to funk and jazz rock, to old-time country and folk. With one of these groups, Amo Joy, I was fortunate to be able to record multiple albums that were released on regional record labels. This allowed us to go on many tours around the U.S. Throughout that process I learned much about how to engineer, release, and promote a record and how to work with labels and venues.

After graduating from Butler, I continued to record and perform in various musical settings, including with a country-rock band called Jester Kings, which allowed me to perform for thousands of people across the country on lead guitar. Around this time I also began to teach guitar and drum lessons.

Since graduating I have also become more versed in instrument repair and refurbishing. This includes repairing guitars and basses in my own personal shop, as well as refurbishing pianos with Northside Music Co., a renowned regional business that has been a part of the Lafayette community for over 50 years.

Now back in Northwest Indiana, I play frequently around the area and still record music and work as an audio engineer in my own time.

Please visit the rest of the site to hear songs, see videos, and get more information about what services I offer.

Thanks!

-Steve
